I'd had this little seed of an idea that I would like to make soap.
The images in my mind of creating rows and rows of hand cut, gorgeous smelling soaps really appealed to my creative side.

But...every time I began reading how to do it, I would write it off as something that felt "too complicated" or would take too much time.
I used to think it would take hours and hours to make soaps and they would take up too much space that I didn't really have...but I was wrong.
What I didn't realise is that I could make beautiful, custom soaps in about an hour!
Of course the soaps need to cure for awhile after they are made, but I was amazed when I discovered the recipes only took about an hour to make!
Another aspect of soap making I thought was complicated was the use of lye.
It didn't sound it was an easy ingredient to find or something I would be able to work with.
I never went further than that, I just put it in the too hard basket and never took the plunge!Â
Then one day a friend of mine enrolled me in a soap making class...and the rest is history!

It turned out soap making was the new hobby I'd been searching for and working with lye wasn't anything to be worried about at all!

I went crazy concocting all kinds of wonderful soaps and everybody in my life got some. Christmases, birthdays, any occasion and they would be gifted some soap...even just for visiting!đ€Ł
And the best part is I didn't need expensive equipment or a lot of space to start creating my homemade soaps!
